Rodney and Marla Johnson

II Samuel 5:4
David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years…

Dude, the Dirty Thirty is here!  We always talk about the significance of this day and what it means for our lives and destiny.  Not sure how you’re feeling or what you’re thinking as you read this letter, but we hope that above all… you’re hopeful.  That’s not very hard for you to do, but we hope you’re extra excited about this chapter of life.  There is so much potential in this season!  Seems that words like change and adapt have been staples in your vocabulary lately, so the future (near and far) is going to be nothing short of awesome.
But aside from all the deep stuff, thanks for being such a great friend.  I (Rodney) especially appreciate how your gift for optimism and encouragement has gotten me through a tough time or two.  “Giver” and “motivator” define your ministry and your personal life.  It makes being connected to you a blessing.  You seek God and try to be the best of what you find.  That’s the true definition of a Jesus follower.
We’ve gotten a chance to be a part of some of the amazing adventures God has taken you and yours through.  It’s been great to see how good He is and how much He always comes through.  It’s been encouraging to witness your honor, sacrifice, and joy through it all.  You’re a blessed man – you have a great family, a great call, and a great gift.  And we count ourselves truly favored to call you our brother.
Looks like we’re in this thing together for life.  Maybe we’ll send out a letter to mark the milestones and possibilities of each decade.  Still remember talking about living life like the Billy Graham crew, sitting on rockers in our seventies talking about the joys of doing ministry together.  Time will tell…we love you, brother!

Happy 30th!
Rodney, Marla, Ethan & Eli
